Optimization of ESS Scheduling for Cost Reduction in Commercial and Industry Customers in Korea

Various attempts have been made to reduce carbon emissions in the energy sector as part of global net zero trends. Among them, interest use storage systems (ESSs) for efficiency is growing. Utilities intend improve investment and operating costs by reducing maximum peak leveling load. Many ESS-scheduling optimization techniques studied demand, balance load, or cost corresponding these two purposes from customer’s point view. In this paper, a method minimization that simultaneously considers both demand load balancing proposed, results analysis case study Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), are presented. Through results, we show there priority among objective functions ESS schedule, charge more important than charge, schedule problem customers also beneficial power system operation utility’s rate policy.
